Your exam is drafted.
There are 50 multiple choice questions, worth 1 point each.
There are 2 essay questions, worth 25 points each.
The exam will count for 60% of your grade, with the three written assignments worth 10% each, class participation worth 10%, and early-semester blog commentary sprinkled in for extra credit (if appropriate).
I had anticipated only having one essay, which would have made a closed-book exam appropriate. However, given that there are two essays, I thought that might be more stress than is warranted. I have decided to lessen your stress and make the exam “open book.” However, you may not bring any commercial outlines to the exam.
Please exercise professionalism and pass this along to any of your classmates, as I’m sure that there are a few who won’t check this site until it is too late.

the exam is open book and we are not allowed to bring in commercial outlines- may we bring in student prepared outlines?

Not to be a smartass but what is a commercial outline? Is it one that was available for sale?

One thing I would like to clarify is exactly what we can bring into the “Open book” exam.
1. Text Book
2. Non-commercial outlines. I.e. outlines we have made ourselves
3. Any notes that we ourselves have created/compiled (Such as notes we create in study groups).
I would just like to know if this list is correct. If its not, could you please specifically tell us what is not correct.
I’m (We I imagine) am/are not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, its just that the proctors (As you know) can sometimes get confused as to what they must allow and what they must confiscate.
To avoid this problem it would help to have a very specific list of documents and books that are allowable into the exam for use during the test.
Thanks again!

Also, I was wondering if we were allowed to bring in our statute books?
